Antique Rose Cut Diamond Carre EMERALD Halo Ring Bullseye Target French 18k Gold Platinum
ABOUT:
The ever popular antique French 18k gold halo or bullseye ring. Never had one with an emerald halo before! The ring face is set with 7 rose cut diamonds for sparkle which are surrounded by the vibrant halo of carre/ trapezoid cut sapphires that are channel set in a circle around the center. The piece has wonderful color and sparkle. The gold is a lovely rich antique 18k gold topped in platinum to set the diamonds as was customary. There is also a tiny diamond set into each shoulder for another glint of sparkle.
The diamonds have a nice dome (compared to many from the period that are thinly sliced disks.). It adds a nice texture, fun to see them cropping out from the side view.
Found in Paris. French hallmarks for 18k gold and platinum.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 3/4
Ring face: 10mm north south, the diamonds are about 1.8mm each.
Weight: 2.3g.
CONDITION NOTES:
Two of the emeralds have chips but they are shallow flakes of loss so the stones all still appear complete in the halo, it can only be seen when studying under magnification. Some unevenness from wear to the gold bezel. The diamonds have a nice clarity for antique stones actually - I usually see them with more frosty spots.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
